Research begins with traceable material: how Chinese mantic traditions formed, how procedures were transmitted and where interpretations diverge. Claims about real-world effects require their own tests.

Reconstruct procedures from identified editions and premises; compare structures, disagreements and interpretive scope.
Testable claims
Define questions, samples, baselines and evaluation in advance; retain negative and inconclusive findings to limit post-hoc interpretation.

From material to a reviewable record
- 01 · Identify terms and editions
- Record variant names, volumes, editions, repositories and editorial interventions.
- 02 · Date and contextualize
- Distinguish a text's claims, later attribution, earliest surviving evidence and modern scholarship.
- 03 · Reconstruct procedures
- Specify inputs, calendar assumptions, calculations and interpretation so another reader can repeat key steps.
- 04 · Compare and review
- Retain variants, counterexamples, school differences and review comments; separate material from inference.
- 05 · Revise and document
- Identify versions, scope and open questions. Preserve correction notes when errors are found.

Contribute sources and collaborate
We welcome edition leads, corrections, licensable images, anonymizable cases and clearly framed questions. Proposals should identify provenance, permissions, scope and intended outputs.
